iDEAL Semiconductor announced today (23rd) that its SuperQ™ technology has obtained AEC-Q101 automotive application certification, marking the company's major expansion into the high-reliability market.

iDEAL’s first product qualified for automotive applications and entering mass production, the iS20M028S1CQ, is a 200 V MOSFET with an on-resistance (RDS(on)) of 25 mΩ and a temperature rating of 175°C.

SuperQ represents a breakthrough advancement in silicon MOSFETs, delivering superior efficiency, reduced switching losses and enhanced conduction performance while maintaining silicon's inherent durability and reliability.

This certification demonstrates SuperQ’s robustness and enables iDEAL to meet the stringent standards set for automotive applications such as electric vehicle powertrains, on-board chargers and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

iS20M028S1CQ is an extension of the iDEAL 200 V series, delivering industry-leading performance in a PDFN 5×6 mm package. It delivers outstanding resistance and efficiency, outperforming competitors by up to 1.7x while ensuring compatibility with high-volume manufacturing.

Mark Granahan, CEO and founder of iDEAL Semiconductor, said: "This is an important milestone that builds on the durability and robustness of SuperQ and opens up new markets for iDEAL. Automotive application certification validates the potential of our technology to improve efficiency in electrified transportation and beyond, providing customers with more sustainable and reliable power solutions."

In addition to automotive applications, this component targets motor drives, battery protection, AI servos, and solar applications.
