When deciding to get a pet, choosing a cat or a dog can be a difficult decision. Although they are both furry friends, these two animals are very different. Cats have many favorable characteristics, including ease of care, cleanliness, and adorable antics, making them ideal pets for any home. So what are the reasons why cats are better to keep than dogs?

First: Cats don’t take up much space

Dogs need a lot of space to live a happy, healthy life.

However, cats don’t need a lot of space to thrive. As long as you can accommodate their necessities, such as a litter box and food and water bowls, you're guaranteed to have a happy kitty.

Second: Cats are more affordable than dogs

Cats are usually cheaper than dogs. While certain types of cats can be expensive to purchase, generally speaking, kittens are relatively affordable relative to dogs, and there are significant expenses that come with owning a pet, from supplies to caregivers. Because dogs tend to destroy toys, they must be made of tough and expensive materials or replaced frequently. Cat toys are relatively cheap, and DIY is even cheaper (and easier).

Third: Cats are completely satisfied indoors

It is almost impossible for dogs to live only indoors. They need lots of exercise, walks and outdoor activities to live a happy and healthy life. Not only are cats safer indoors, but they're perfectly happy perching next to a window or curled up in a sunny spot on the couch. Just open a window to get some fresh air, and your cat will be watching the birds and bugs all day long.

Fourth: Cats are relatively quiet

Even dog lovers have to admit that many dogs will become very annoying when they encounter the constant barking of passers-by.

While cats do make some noise, especially at night, when many cats are most active, their calls are very quiet.

Fifth: Kittens require less work than puppies

Both puppies and kittens require a lot of time and energy to adapt to the environment of their new home.

However, puppies require ongoing training (especially potty training). Once puppies are weaned from their mothers and learn the basics of using a litter box, they can be left at home unsupervised during the day.

Sixth: Cleaning the litter box is much easier than walking the dog

Cats only need to clean the litter box, but dogs need to go out for a walk. Whether it is hot summer or cold winter, dogs need to go out!

Seventh: Cats love cleanliness more than dogs

Cats are naturally very clean animals. You may need to groom them with a brush from time to time. You just need to trim their nails regularly. Cats do a good job of keeping themselves clean. But dogs can’t!
