Many pet owners prefer to raise female dogs, but in fact, if you raise a female dog, you may have to face more complicated things on a daily basis. Especially when the female dog gives birth to a baby, you may need to prepare more items, and you may also encounter emergencies in which the dog still has blood a month after giving birth. So why is this happening?

1. Endometritis

If the dog does not pay attention to hygiene during the period after giving birth, it can easily lead to infection and inflammation of the dog's uterus. Therefore, if possible, you can conduct a cytological examination of the dog’s secretions. If there are obvious bacteria and neutrophils, it can be determined that it is an intrauterine infection. If it is a uterine infection, the recommended conservative treatment is to use antibiotics, or you can flush the bladder and give antibiotics.

2. Reproductive tract diseases

When the size of the puppies is too large, the dog's birth canal may be ruptured during birth, so that the dog has not recovered after a month. If this is the case, it is recommended that the owner give the dog some anti-inflammatory drugs. In severe cases, it is necessary to go to the pet hospital for infusion treatment.

Note: Clinically, if the dog does not intend to continue breeding, it is usually recommended that the owner undergo sterilization surgery. Neutering surgery can fundamentally solve the problem of pyometra infection.
