When the mother dog went out to look for food again, the volunteers decided to use the puppies as bait to attract the mother dog into the capture cage. Volunteers set up a capture cage in front of the balcony where the puppies were found, wrapped the puppies in blankets and placed them in the cage.
Soon, the mother dog came back and found that her puppy was not in its original nest. It was pacing back and forth anxiously. Finally, he followed the scent and found the puppy's location.
The mother dog stopped at the closest place to the dog next to the cage, biting the iron cage with her teeth. After realizing that it was useless, she gave up biting and began to observe the cage.
The mother dog seemed to have doubts about the capture cage and realized that it might be a trap. It ran around the cage several times, hesitating whether to go in or not. In the end, the mother dog entered the cage through the small door for the sake of her babies. In the end, the mother dog and her babies were rescued.
The doctors carefully examined the mother dog and found that her leg might have been caught by something similar to a animal trap, and the leg had also been tied with a rope. Because it was tied too tightly and the injury lasted too long, blood could not flow, and the lower half of the leg was necrotic. Currently, amputation surgery can only be performed.
The doctor concluded that the mother dog’s leg injuries were severe when she gave birth to puppies. She endured tremendous pain before giving birth to the baby. We don’t know what the mother dog went through, but we know that the most likely reason why she persisted until now was to give her baby a chance to give birth! After the amputation surgery, the mother dog and her children temporarily live in an animal rescue center. The doctor will perform the spay/neuter surgery on the mother dog after her legs have fully recovered and the puppies have been weaned.
