Golden Retriever seeks out neighbor to rescue owner along road, wins Hero Dog of the Year award

According to media reports, a pet golden retriever from Texas, USA, saved his owner’s life and won the honor of “Hero Dog of the Year”. But now this golden retriever has been diagnosed with cancer and may not live for up to 6 months, but it is still by the side of its paralyzed owner, bringing a lot of joy to his life.

Paul Horton, a man in Texas, USA, sat in a wheelchair and sang with Yogi, a golden retriever, accompanied by his wife's piano accompaniment. However, he almost died in an accident five years ago. Yogi ran home to ask for help from a neighbor and saved his life. For five years, Yogi has been beside the wheelchair, keeping Holden happy every day. However, Holden recently said sadly that Yogi was diagnosed with cancer and the veterinarian estimated that he would only have 6 months left to live.

One day in 2010, Holden took Yogi for a walk by Lake Travis near his home while riding his bicycle. He accidentally collided and was violently thrown out. When he woke up, he found himself lying on the ground, coughing up blood, and Yogi was standing next to him. Holden soon realized that his body was paralyzed and he couldn't move. Yogi's only hope of survival was to ask for help from the soldiers. Yogi immediately understood his owner's needs and ran home quickly to find help from his neighbors. He barked along the road and led others back to the place where Holden's accident occurred.

Yogi's heroic deeds earned her the honor of "Hero Dog of the Year" from the Charity Association, and her smiling face has appeared on various news pages around the world. For the past five years, Yogi has been by Holden's wheelchair every day, singing along to piano accompaniment and chewing on the crumbs from the barbecue. Although Holden has limited mobility due to the accident, he smiles happily every day with Yogi by his side.
