The degree of pressure of parents is related to the length of time the child uses the screen. The latest research shows that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the time for children to use screens tripled, from 2 hours a day to 6 hours. Especially for parents with higher pressure, their children’s use screens are also longer. Experts suggest that when entering the post-epidemic era, parents can cultivate their children's interest, promote physical and mental health through three steps, including observing pressure conditions, creating time for family members and physical activities that can be done at the same time when using regular screens.

A study survey published by the University of Western Ontario, Canada in October in the Journal of Emotional Disease Reporting found that during the closing period of the new coronavirus school, children spend nearly 6 hours on the screen every day, and some children even use the screen for up to 13 hours a day. The daily time for children to use the screen increases by 3.2 hours compared to before the outbreak of the epidemic; parents’ pressure levels are moderate to high, and parents with high pressure levels are significantly related to the increase in the time used by children.

Yu Ning Physical and Mind Clinic Director Wu Youyou said that the epidemic has caused real interaction, and the time spent at home has increased, so children’s online and screen use has increased. Taiwan also has the same phenomenon. After the outbreak of the epidemic, many things have been turned into digitalization, including course learning, chatting with friends, and interaction with friends. The screen usage time will increase. It is recommended that parents can start by cultivating their children's interest, increase rest activities such as dancing, playing ball, reading, painting, etc., and help children reduce the screen usage time.

Ye Yaxin, director of the Psychological Health Center of the Dong Foundation, suggested that parents can promote their physical and mental health and their children through three steps.

1. "View" the pressure situation of one's own pressure, clear the pressure source, such as whether the work is overloaded, economic problems, or space problems such as the room, that is, classrooms, and workplaces, and develop improvement methods or appropriate acceptance.

2. "Create" the children and children work together to transfer pressure as a helping force with positive attitudes, such as allowing children to share their families, do their meals together, and move together.

3. "Planning" physical activities are difficult to limit the use of screens in the post-epidemic era, but they can avoid sitting for a long time. For example, when watching a TV, inviting children to swing their hands, raise their legs, and squat together, which helps relieve stress and maintain a healthy body and mind.
