Korea K2 League, in the 19th round, Gyeongnam played against Ping'anshan Green Man 1-1. Gyeongnam striker Bruno Costa scored an equalizer for the team. After the game, Bruno Costa, who is Jota's former teammate, updated social media, and said he would dedicate the goal to the Jota brothers.

Bruno Costa social media wrote:

On this extremely difficult day for world football, I have the honor to pay tribute to you with your celebration moves, a simple move, but full of profound meaning. In today's game, I played for you, with a deep heart in my chest, but I offered a real tribute with strong will. On the other side of the world, I send my deepest hug to your family and to all those who miss you.

Football is like this. It connects us together. Through respect, through role models, through shared love. And today, on a field in South Korea, I feel this connection more deeply than ever.

This is my debut on behalf of Gyeongnam FC. A new country, a new culture, a whole new challenge. I scored a goal, and this goal not only belongs to me, but also to you, Diogo and Andre.

Bruno Costa, a Portuguese player born in April 1997, had been teammates with Jota in Porto. In April 2025, he transferred to the Korean K2 League Gyeongnam FC.
